Our learning approach
Inspiring curiosity, creativity and connection through play-based learning.
Our curriculum
Early Learning - for infants, toddlers, pre-kindy
Quest Early Learning provides education and care for children from birth to five years, supporting each stage of development through intentional teaching and play-based learning. Our program is delivered within a safe, supportive environment at our early learning centre in Bicton.
Educators plan learning experiences that support children’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive development. Programs are tailored to children’s interests, strengths and developmental needs, ensuring learning is meaningful and engaging.
Secure relationships form the foundation of early learning. Educators prioritise building trusting attachments with children, supporting emotional wellbeing and confidence. Children are encouraged to explore, take risks and develop independence within a safe and supportive environment.
By focusing on holistic development, our early learning program supports children not only in preparation for school, but for lifelong learning and wellbeing, within long day care routines that support family needs.
Early Learning - kindergarten curriculum guidelines for kindy.
Our kindergarten program follows the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and supports children in the year before school to build confidence, independence and strong learning foundations. The curriculum is play-based and intentionally planned by educators to extend children’s interests while developing key school-readiness skills.
We focus on: early literacy and numeracy, social and emotional development, self-help skills, problem-solving, and sustained attention. Children participate in a balance of child-led play, small-group learning, project work and everyday routines that build resilience and responsibility.
Learning is guided by observation and assessment, with regular communication to families about goals, progress and ways to support learning at home. Our approach ensures each child is challenged appropriately, feels a strong sense of belonging, and transitions to school with confidence, curiosity and the skills to thrive.
Early Learning - My time, our place for OSCH
Our OSHC program is guided by the My Time, Our Place framework, which supports school-aged children to feel safe, connected and confident in their out-of-school hours. We provide a balanced program that reflects children’s interests and needs, with opportunities to rest, recharge, play and grow.
Children can choose from engaging activities that build creativity, wellbeing and social connection — including active outdoor play, quiet spaces, group games, creative projects and life-skill experiences. Educators create a supportive environment where children feel they belong, build friendships, practise independence and develop responsibility through everyday routines.
We value children’s voice and choice, encouraging them to contribute ideas and help shape the program. Our approach focuses on fun, inclusion and positive relationships, while also supporting children to develop resilience, confidence and a strong sense of community.
The EYLF philosophy
Our program is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), supporting children from birth to five to develop a strong foundation for life and learning. Through intentional teaching and daily routines, we create experiences that build confidence, capability and joy in learning.
Identity
We help children build confidence in who they are, celebrating their strengths, culture and individuality. Through positive relationships and meaningful experiences, children learn to feel secure, capable and proud of their growing independence.
Connection
Children learn best when they feel they belong. We support strong connections with peers, educators, family and community, encouraging kindness, cooperation and respect for others and the world around them.
Wellbeing
We nurture children’s physical and emotional wellbeing through safe, supportive care, healthy routines and calm guidance. Children are supported to recognise feelings, build resilience and develop healthy habits for everyday life.
Learning
We promote a love of learning through curiosity, play and exploration. Children are encouraged to investigate, problem-solve and try new things, building skills that support thinking, confidence and persistence.
Communication
Communication is central to how children learn and connect. We support children to express themselves through language, movement, creativity and play, while developing listening skills, confidence and early literacy foundations.

Play-Based Learning
Play is the foundation of learning at Quest Early Learning. Through play, children explore ideas, build relationships, develop problem-solving skills and make sense of the world around them.
Our play-based approach allows learning to feel natural and enjoyable while supporting development across all learning areas. Educators carefully observe children’s play and intentionally extend learning through thoughtful interactions, questions and resources.
Play-based learning supports creativity, resilience, communication and confidence. Children are encouraged to follow their interests, make choices and learn at their own pace.
By valuing play as a powerful learning tool, we support children to develop a love of learning that continues well beyond the early years.
River Kinder
River Kinder is our kindergarten program inspired by the steady rhythm of the river — flowing, curious and always moving forward. It’s a place where children learn through exploration, nature-led experiences and hands-on play that builds confidence and school readiness. Educators create intentional learning moments that strengthen early literacy and numeracy, social skills and independence, while still honouring each child’s pace and interests. Whether children are building, creating, investigating or collaborating, River Kinder supports them to take healthy risks, think deeply and feel proud of what they can do.
Learning that flows from child-led play
In River Kinder, we follow children’s interests and extend them with meaningful projects, group experiences and guided learning. Children build routines, friendships and self-help skills, developing resilience, communication and a strong sense of belonging as they prepare for their next step into school.
